We had a great time shooting this family session at the Tridge in Midland, MI. What a great backdrop, and a fun family to work with! 

Here are some highlights of the Senior sessions from the class of 2023! 

This family is special to me in a few different ways. Not only is Krystyna my co-worker, but also a very good friend of mine. She was also my daughter's first grade teacher last year, so she holds a very special place in my heart. I just love spending time with them, and taking their portraits was no different!

I have known Adam's mom for many years. I would love when she would come babysit my sisters and I. She was always so sweet and lots of fun! When she called to ask me to take pictures of her son, I was super excited! 

Congratulations Adam!! I hope you have a great last year of high school!!! 

I was lucky enough to learn under Drew's mom for my student teaching. At that time, little Drew was only a toddler. I hadn't even picked up a camera yet. Who would have thought I would be the one chosen to take his senior pictures!! 

Congratulations Drew!! I hope you have a great Senior year!!! 

Charleigh was just the sweetest big sister I've seen in a while. She was taking her new job very seriously. Look at how cute they are!!!

We took pictures much like this for this little guy's big brother not that long ago. Callen is just as cute as his brother, although he's a bit chunkier. How can you not love all that baby boy chunk!?! He was full of smiles, loved being messy and we had a great time taking these photos.

Having a brand new nephew is so sweet and so much fun! Being able to take pictures of that adorable nephew is even more fun!! Here are a few of my favorites from little Theo's hospital AND newborn session. 

Little Theo made his appearance on May 16th. He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds, 12 ounces & was 21.5 inches long.

I think these 2 cuties had a bit more fun taking photos than they normally do. They got to eat some deliciously sweet watermelon , act a little silly, play with my kids, and smash watermelon on the trees! What a fun time!!!

Little Emma has loved animals for as long as I can remember. Her love for animals quickly focused on horses. She has a little collection in her bedroom, and now she is finally old enough to learn to ride!! We had to capture this special moment of Emma's favorite thing to do! She is a natural! 

We had to visit the horses first, because that's one of her favorite parts.

She made sure to introduce me to all of them!

This was tricky, but Emma was VERY patient, because she really wanted this picture! 

I don't think I've seen Emma much happier than at the stables!

The lighting was a challenge for me here, it was rainy, and we were stuck in the dark arena. She was so focused while she was riding!

I had the privilege to capture this little ladybug's first birthday party! She was such a sweet girl and had lots of fun! She just loved visiting with everyone and is pretty cute, too!

I have been meeting a lot of little girls lately. This one was such a dream to photograph, and behaved very nicely. I just loved the brightness in her hair. Isn't she a cutie?

This little girl was a sweet surprise. We waited nine long months to find out if she was a little boy or girl. She came out just perfect!! Of course it was fun dressing her up in all of the cute little girly accessories. Here are a few favorites of Natalie's session. 

She's so snuggly and I can't wait until she's old enough to play with my daughter. They'll have so much fun together. Love you guys!

Look who is 6 months and just learned to sit up! What a sweetie she is! She was such a happy baby when she visited, I just couldn't get enough of her!   

One of the most difficult ages to photograph is 18 months. They don't understand why you want them to sit and what you want them to do, and they just want to play!!! The best way to do it is to just let them play! That's what we did with Gage, so here's what this little cutie looks like at 18 months, having fun being Gage.

Newborns....my favorite! I just love shooting tiny newborns, and this one was extra fun, since we included her NEW big sister! Look how sweet these girls are! 

Wow! 9 months? You can see Paisley's newborn  3 month  and 6 month photos to see how she's grown. I have the pleasure of capturing her sweet face every 3 months for her first year! This time she made things a little tricky as she was on the go, and we think she was working on some teeth! She is still as adorable as ever, though! 

Since my niece was visiting for the holidays, I couldn't resist taking photos while she was at my house. We had fun playing around, because little girls are so much fun to play with! Here are a few of my favorites!

If I remember right, these two were my very first Halloween photo session two years ago. I guess we have made it a tradition for the past three Halloweens! This time we included mom and dad and got some really cute shots. Aren't they adorable?

Tobico Marsh is one of my favorite fall locations for fall photos. It is nice and shady, and usually has really nice colors. Here are my favorites of the Williams family. I have been taking pictures of this fun loving family since the little one was a newborn, and I LOVE watching her change and grow each time I see them!

I always love shooting in new locations, so when my cousin asked me to come out to her house, I was definitely up for it! Look at the gorgeous colors! The subjects are pretty cute, too. :)

The cool thing about taking Paisley's photos is getting to see her grow! I took her photos when she was an itty bitty newborn. I have the pleasure of capturing her sweet face every 3 months for her first year. I can't wait! A 3 month old isn't really into pictures. She wasn't quite sure why we kept changing her outfits and moving her around so much when she just wanted to cuddle! But we got some cute shots and she was happily sleeping in the car on the way home! Here is sweet Paisley at 3 months old.

I know I've told many of you I do not do weddings (I am still not for hire - I'll stick to my portraits for now).  But my cousin Niki twisted my arm just enough for me to try it out on hers. Her and Dave are very special to me and I was so excited to be a part of their wonderful day. Here are a few of the highlights from the day.

It's hard to believe these sweeties are two years old already! 

Two year old appointments are usually all about playing, and getting what you can get without being picky. Makenzie and Makaylin were much more pleasant than my daughter was at two years old! 

They were fun to hang out & play with while we took a walk at beautiful Dow Gardens.

I could tell they just love each other. They didn't want to be apart very long. I love this, because it is just them being them.

This little cutie just turned 7 months old.

We had to reschedule a few times to wait for nicer weather, and I'm so glad we did.

They turned out so nice, he was in a good mood and was sitting up so confidently!

We loved this one because it's a real smile, and with her, that has been hard to get on camera! 

What a sweet but sassy little thing she's turning out to be. She has already mastered the art of lying to my face, and has these big brown eyes ready for when she wants something and definitely knows how to use them! :) 

I am calling this part 1, because I'm going to be doing more photos with her when the weather gets a bit nicer, but I wanted to get a few pics in her birthday outfit. 

This outfit was fun to make and she loves it! I just wish she wouldn't grow out of it quite so fast....

Here are a few of my husbands favorites. I let him pick this time, since I'm always the one who does the photo choosing. I can't wait to scrapbook these pictures. Maybe I'll get to that in about 10 years...

I absolutely LOVED the image above of little Miss Emma in front of her first Christmas tree! What a sweet Christmas gift! She was such a treat. The holiday mini sessions were a HUGE success! I had 18 customers this year that I managed to fit in. Last year I think I did about 4. So the holidays were a great confidence booster for me (and my business). Sadly, I had to turn a few clients away because I could not find the time to fit them into my busy schedule! 

I also need to say a HUGE THANK YOU to my two best friends and wonderful assistants, Tracy and Janelle, without whom I would have never gotten so many appointments squeezed into one weekend (without losing my mind anyway)!

We were able to squeeze at least a smile or two out of every little client, even those who were not too excited about the camera in their faces! :) 

Now that everyone's holiday cards are all sent out (hopefully) I think it's safe to share my favorites from each session. Here is a quick snapshot of the sessions (excluding the one's asked not to share). Enjoy. I have bigger and better ideas in store for next year's holidays...

The fall mini sessions had me feeling all kinds of emotions! They were the shortest sessions I've had yet, and I was nervous I wouldn't capture what I needed in just 20 minutes? Luckily, my sweet friend gave up her Saturday and came along to help. They all turned out great and I've received so many compliments. The fun part was that I had some new clients and some returning customers! Since it was such a success, it's time to plan for Christmas mini sessions!
